remeber Pulsar 200 and 220 are technologically more adavanced than any other bike and they are bound to have some issues in the begining. And from my personal experience Bajaj guys are always there to respond to any problem with your machine.
Pulsar 150 and 180 dont have any such issues, and i have been using p 150dtsi since more than 2 years. No reliability problems.
That was the only problem with P200. Apart from that no issues.
If you crib about one such incident like this then theres no point of explaining.
And remember Bajaj guys upgrade their models even when they asell like hot cakes.
And today Pulsar 150 and 180 are on par with HH bikes on quality levels.
And trust me this is just one of incident from Bajaj and P 200 is a high quality bike. I have tested my friends bike. All the parts are top class from switches to the rear mudguard

i have a pulsar 200 standing in my house. it’s shockers were replaced by bajaj. does not inspire confidence in me.
people did not get injured due to breaking shockers? they could have died.
bajaj has not apoligised to the pulsar 200 owners publicly. they have not released any public statement confirming the problems in the initial units of pulsar 200.
they are just fixing the problem through their dealers. don’t want the general public to know that they messed up big time with the pulsar 200’s initial units.

I could go on saying this rulezzzzz that rulezzz or some tom dick and harry ruleeezzz, however in any rule we must have two basic ingredients one-the ruler, two-the ruled. I am matured, passionate, qualifed and learned enough to understand that bajaj pulsar doesn’t rulezzzzz. Only because pulsar sells volumes does not mean that it is the best or the ruler, it sells volumes because it offers best value for money to college going students and daily commuters but in no ways a pro biker or performance enthuziast whichever u would like to put it will love a pulsar. No Pro biker will ever let a bajaj pulsar rule his/her senses. Simply put Pulsar is no iconic bike to rule, allow me to give you the leauge of rulers or iconic bikes of past decade - Yamaha RD350, Yamaha RX 100, Suzuki Shogun, Yamaha RXZ and at the top HH CBZ , HH ZMA (karizma-for the novices), give this list to any Real biker made out of dust and he will agree.
Pulsar doesn’t have what it takes to be an icon. There might be few raised hands by now and will surely like to crib that pulsar is the bike which brought Innovations, new tech blah blah… you see ZMA was launched with Factory fitted MAG first and then Pulsar copied it, Fuel Injection came to Glamour First, then there would be last one point tubeless tyres, being wise is one thing and being sensible is another and HH is being sensible by not bringing tubeless tyres to their bikes coz the bikes might have progressed but the roads on which we ride are left far behind, another thing is availibility of a mechanic who can deal swiftly with tubeless when in need.
I would refrain myself from getiing into varbal abuse, it is not that i detest pulsars infact i admire them for the value for money factor of the package. Bygones be Bygones lets not forget that HH Rulez 50% of indian bike market today and will continue to enjoy this status for years to come till the time they will keep pushing the envelope and will keep churning out Iconic bikez like HH CBZ, HH KARIZMA, HH CBZ X-treme al of them a ruler in its pure sense

P200 owners

Hey Sushubh got some message for you,
As for your concern Bajaj sales are going down. It is only for the month of March, and it iss not only for Bajaj evevn HH sales are down for this month. The reason why bajaj sales are down is nnot because people are not purchasing Pulsars, its because bajaj are sorting out inventory issues with their suppliers and this was supposed to get over by May end. And also lot of people are waiting for the Pulsar 220 and thats the reason why tthey are not going for P180 or P200 at the moment (that includes me).
As for your Pulsar 200 related reliability problem, The P200 did have an issue with its front forks and a couple of incidents were reported where the front forks cracked under braking. From what I understand neither rider fell off or was injured. Bajaj has since then, aggressive pursued P200 owners and replaced the forks with new ones of a stronger design.
Also remeber Pulsar 200 and 220 are technologically more adavanced than any other bike and they are bound to have some issues in the begining. And from my personal experience Bajaj guys are always there to respond to any problem with your machine.
So i guess that answers your query.

changing components of the engine

Spares ka matlab nahin ki i am changing components of the engine, some chota mota parts like the indicators, fairing all those stuff. and any bike requires these to be replaced sometime or other. This is common sense.
As for Pulsar, i have ridden other bikes but Pulsars are in a different planet altogether.
And that explains the growing Pulsar numbers in India.

hi i ve a PULSAR 200 which has done 420 km.the bike is just great…lately ive been hearing people saying crap bout the P200 ……..let me tell u the bike is excellent…….. no broken front forks …..no smoke from silencer……..the quality is top notch……….i think hype raja has a HH bike…..look at HH bikes the EXTREME looks like it has come fresh out of an accident………HH people forgot how to build bikes after the CBZ ..the KARIZMA is a good bike but it gets beaten fair and square by the P200…….. face the truth raja ……..HH is going downhill…….BAJAJ?? u decide

Hello…I’am Ashmmet i hav just purchased new Bajaj Pulsar 200cc on 20th of May.It has only been 2 days yet but honestly it has been a AWSM ride……whenever i leave my home and sit on my bike i feel that
Heat and Energy in my blood and when you see other people looking and notcing you it feel Good and mainly it gives you satisfaction and you know that the money which you have spent on a Bike that is worth it.I hope that Bajaj will keep on launching such bikes which will inspire new generation and youth to take these Fast,Trendy,Safe and coooool bikes.

Pulsar 200 is a marvel no doubt. And i dont doubt the mileage. The point is
if you can afford a bike like pulsar 200 then fuel efficiency should not be a problem. Even if that is a concern the only other bike available is Karizma which is more expensive, and p 200 p180 is any day better than that.
I plan to go for P200, but i will wait a while as p220 is about to be launched. And one more thing my P150 dtsi gives 60kmpl if i ride it sensibly and not like maniac

P200 Issues till date

P200 Issues till date (from Pro-bike mechanic)
1. Engine overheating (1 in 2)
2. Gearbox (1 in 2) some are good some are equally bad.
3. Clutch issues still plague PULSARS
4. Understeering (can cause serious accidents)
5. Braking too sharp. (3 minor accidents in Test ride itself)
6. handling @ high speeds not good (not like Honda Unicorn/CBZ Xtreme)

Mr. Vivek you need a break. i own a pulsar 150 dtsi. I have it since last 2 years. The mileage is 65kmpl, and the bike quality is awesome. And the best part is awesome customer service i get. I think all you HH CBZ Xtreme guys need a mental check up.

I have used my uncles’ pulsar and never used to give 45 km/l mileage…plus maintainence is very costly….every paid service they will remove some part…Maruthi is cheaper in terms of maintainence…I have 1.5 yr old Achiver….only maintainence is oil change …nothing else !!

Thanks to HMSI lower focus on customer especially in Service and maintainence costs….many Activa/Unicorn owners are recommending Xtreme, B’cos HH is way ahead in customer focus…small repairs fitting and warranty stuff is closed @ service supervisors’ insistance…..HMSI warramty is like black n white rule book…they talk lot about rules and don’t care like HH…HH replaces parts if found defective from their side and the replaced part will also get warranty till next service….Xtreme numbers are growing pretty fast in all cities…thanks to first batch owners who are spreading good words about Xtreme……I have talked to atleast 2 dozen Xtreme owners ….all are more than happy to ride one….I’m now thinking to replace my 1.5 yr old Achiever with Xtreme !!

and let me tell u…. that this machine is awesome.
The ride quality is exceptional and the handling is the best in the 150cc segment. The body porture. the gear pedal…. are PERFECTLY positioned.
As for the looks, the front faring is not very attractive… but the back faring is unbeatable.
It also offers me a very good milage of arnd 50kmpl !!!
N no other bike is even near to its pickup.
If u r in the hunt of a 150cc… then this is the mean machine….
Coz its not abt survival….its abt living Xtreme….!!!!

Just few words on P200 : Excellent pick-up, same old Pulsar look, Pillion seat is useless, at higher speeds P200 can kill you. The bike chassis and overall balancing sucks @ high speeds. ONLY Karizma is good @ highspeeds…Unicorn n Xtreme are also fantastic.

Waiting period is 60 days

When test riding I saw 3 owners arguing with sales/service guys about oil-leakage/false neutral/noise from engine etc..but my test ride was good…brakes are too sharp(and dangerous), good accln in 2,3,4 gear. Waiting period is 60 days. OTR B’lore 74,500 bucks @ Khivraj Motors !!

The headlight is small, but Pulsar headlight sucks, Pulsar tank is know as NUT CRACKER!! Pulsar is very dangerous bike ever made, not sure when customers will take Bajaj to court. The chassis of all Pulsars are flawed, balance, braking, cornering suck at high speeds.
Xtreme is a treat to ride, it’s the best of 150cc, Unicorn is again a good choice !!

hi guys, i bought Xtreme in 12dec 2006,first i was thinking to buy pulser 180cc bike,i have done a lots of research on it,i have also checked with my friends ,few things i came to knew about pulser is, yeah its good by Look, really bajaj peoples done a great job in look, but is it as good the engine,?i have used bajaj 4stocke b4,its run good in the starting but later its start giving problem,bajaj bikes engines are not good as good as look, we living in india and we know how roads are in here, and traffic are in here,we need a bike wich is good look and give good proformance, so i have gone with hero honda cbz, its great, its not april and guys dont mind, i have no problem at all with this bike, rude smooth, i can feel extreme,breaks are good, good safty, and dont ask me about the millage, i drive 50km everyday from delhi to gurgaon and its 55+ millage, iam enough happy with it, so guys choice is urs, if u wants good look then go to pulser, but if u wants good look and plus profmance, then go with cbz xtreme,

I had Pulsar earlier

Hey guys,
I had Pulsar earlier, after 2 years I sold it off…I had three accidents…all minor ones…my parents asked me to sell it b’cos of suspected bad omen….In Dec2006 I booked Xtreme based on test ride….till now I have done 2100 kms….it’s a great machine….it’s handling is best, looks are truely MASCULINE…Pulsar was good but in front of Xtreme Pulsar is nothing …till date everything is fine and I get mileage of 50+ kmpl which is quite good….the truth about pulsar mileage is that it gives good mileage only for first few months after that it’s your luck….my pulsar mileage was only 35 kmpl whem I sold…I had replaced lots of parts…..Hero Honda feeling is good…no issues with servicing….in fact no question of going with problems to service center….with my Pulsar I have wasted lot of time fixing issues very often…CBZ is refreshing and high quality too…….I recommend CBZ to all 150cc hunters w/o hesitation….

Hey P200 is horrible bike

Hey P200 is horrible bike…the reason for the launch is simple…they couldn’t get out good set of P220s in time….so to keep the hype flowing they have launched P200……There are lots of quality issues ….many are facing problems…pay Rs.70,000 bucks and get headache…..there is no medicine better than P200 !! It’s available @ Bajaj showrooms !! Now why the hell Service center should be blamed at all……it’s Bajaj poor quality that is responsible…not poor mechanics !!
